150th Anniversary: unique journey with steam train No. 7

Description

Take a ride ascending Mt. Rigi with the world's only mobile rack steam locomotive with a standing boiler!

Locomotive 7 has come a long way to transport you up the Queen of the Mountains. The steam locomotive no. 7 was built in 1873 by the Swiss Locomotive and Machine Works SLM in Winterthur. After 64 years the old lady was withdrawn from traffic in 1937 and in 1959 she was transferred to the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne. On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Rigi Railway, she has been transported by boat from Lucerne to Vitznau in September 2020 and then has been restored with a great deal of expert knowledge and passion in the depots of RIGI BAHNEN AG.

Enjoy a unique train ride with this historical gem and let yourself be charmed by a journey into a past which lies almost 150 years ago.
