Current operating situation

According to the decisions taken by the Swiss Federal Council on July 1, 2020, all passengers must wear a hygienic mask when travelling on Swiss public transportation effective from Monday, July 6th, 2020. This mask requirement also extends to all train and cable-car services operated by Mount Rigi Railways. If you do not already have a hygienic mask, they are available for purchase in all Mount Rigi Railways shops. For further details, please click here to see the latest safety concept.

Mount Rigi Railways Safety Concept

When travelling, we advise all passengers to please follow the safety measures in place for public transportation (SBB) as well as the hygiene recommendations published by the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (BAG). Mount Rigi Railways has developed ist own set of safety measures, following the lead of the SBB and BAG in the process. These measures rely heavily on the personal responsibility and solidarity demonstrated by customers of Mount Rigi Railways.  As of May 11th, 2020, you are kindly requested to acknowledge and adhere to the following safety measures:

GROUP TOURS ON THE RIGI RAILWAYS

For capacity and organisational reasons, the RIGI BAHNEN AG can not always guarantee additional space in the vehicles for groups (depending on the number of guests).

For your and our safety, we ask you to observe the following rules:

  • All passengers must wear a hygienic mask when travelling on Swiss public transportation
  • Group leader is responsible for protective equipment (material can be purchased on site)
  • Departmental separation should not be removed
  • Group passengers should not leave their group compartment
  • Tickets should be paid by credit card or invoice

Entschädigung für Rigi-Abo-Halter/innen

So einzigartig wie die Königin der Berge, so einzigartig ist auch die allgegenwärtige Coronavirus-Situation. Die aktuellen Weisungen des Bundesrates zwecks Einschränkung der Ausbreitung und Vorkehrungen zum Schutz der Risikogruppen sind massiv und betreffen uns alle. Trotz des Bundesratsentscheids vom 29. April 2020 sind wir weiterhin verpflichtet jegliche touristische Veranstaltungen und Angebote vorläufig einzustellen. Am 11. Mai ist ein erster Schritt Richtung Normalität erfolgt.

Alle Kunden, welche am 1. April 2020 im Besitz eines Rigi Jahres-Abos oder Rigi Kombi-Abos waren, erhalten beim Neubezug des Abos eine einmalige Entschädigung von 30 Tagen auf das neue Abo. Die Gültigkeit des neuen Abos wird beim Neubezug automatisch um 30 Tage verlängert.
