Snow sport school Rigi
On Mt. Rigi, winter sports lessons are available in all disciplines, based on the standardised system developed by the Swiss Ski School. Visitors report that it makes learning to ski or snowboard a quite different experience: more fun, more challenging.
Whether you're a beginner or an expert, everyone is welcome at the Rigi Winter Sports School. Because ski school just keeps getting more interesting, the better you become. It's amazing how much there still is to learn, even when you think you can already ski or snowboard.
For the youngest, there's the "Piccolo" group. They have a lot of fun and learn through play how to achieve their first successes in the snow, finding out about their skis and the snow, braking, following the fall line, keeping skis parallel, turning etc.
Then the teaching proceeds systematically, from beginner to expert level. Beginners learn about the equipment for skiing, climbing steps, sliding and braking in a snow-plough, parallel skiing etc.
Experts learn how to do short turns using their sticks on difficult slopes, parallel turns where the snow has not been prepared, carving turns etc.
Under the new name "Rigi Winter Sports School", courses for beginners and experts and private lessons will be available again in the 2016/17 winter season.
The prices and terms of the Rigi Winter Sports School are based on the regulations for Swiss ski schools.
Daily from monday-friday for adults and children from 5 years, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Except on Saturdays and Sundays. Classes only take place if there are at least 5 participants.
