A historic site
Nestling in the eastern slopes of Mount Rigi, halfway up to Kulm, lies the hamlet of Rigi Klösterli, a historic place of pilgrimage once home to many Capuchin monks. Not far from the roaring Rigi Aa, surrounded by the typical grottos and caves, the «Kapelle Maria zum Schnee» was built here over 300 years ago. This pretty pilgrimage chapel is considered one of the world’s most beautiful alpine chapels. Today, every half hour only, the bright sound of its bell mildly disrupts the peace.
