Locomotive 7

The work is done. Locomotive No. 7, alias Sibni, is once again steaming up the Queen of the Mountains. The steam locomotive was built in 1873 by the Schweizerische Lokomotiv- und Maschinenfabrik SLM in Winterthur. After 64 years of service, it was decommissioned in 1937. In 1959, it was moved to the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne and now back to the Rigi. This heartfelt wish was made possible not least thanks to the Rigi Historic Foundation. The foundation is committed to preserving the historic vehicles and buildings on the Rigi.
