Small but powerful. At first glance, the Mount Rigi ski and snowboard area may seem small. But when you take a closer look, you realize all of the different combinations and possibilities that the area provides. Here you will find 20 kilometers of perfectly prepared slopes.
NO STANDING IN THE QUEUE HERE!
It starts with the fact that at Mount Rigi, you never have to worry about standing in the queue—even when the weather is beautiful and there is plentiful new snowfall. The cogwheel trains from Goldau and Vitznau depart hourly to the summit of Mount Rigi. The only thing on your to do listis to ensure that you arrive punctually at any of the valley stations.

Do you want to be one of the first to make tracks through the powder snow? Than it is worthwhile getting up early and taking the first train up Mount Rigi. You can conveniently stow your skis or snowboard in the dedicated luggage carriage. Any Rigi day pass includes free access to all five ski lifts (Ständli, Rotstock, Trainer, Gratalp und Obermatt). In addition, there are three beginner lifts (Burggeist, Scheidegg, Bärenstube) and a children`s carousel at Rigi Staffel. We recommend that you check the winter sports report on our website before you leave.

The next stop is Rigi Staffel. Here you will find the Rotstock – Ständi ski area which is regarded as being pretty snow-secure and is a perfect starting point for many of the Mount Rigi ski lifts.
Insider Tip: The youngest skiers and snowboarders should consider switching to the cable-car at the Kräbel station and taking it up to Rigi Scheidegg & Burggeist. The beginner's lifts here are ideal for small children.
The ski lift at Obermatt at Rigi Scheidegg not only services a great slope but also offers unbelievable views of Lake Lucerne, Nieder- and Oberbauen mountains, as well as the veritable Uri-Rotstock in the background.

Mount Rigi is not a place for classic apres-ski. That said, it is a place with an incredible array of cozy guesthouses and huts that will impress you with their seasonal dishes. Please find here a list of restaurants and alpine huts that are easily accessible from the ski slopes.
