Questions & Answers
Here you will find the answers to most frequently asked questions about your trip to the Queen of the Mountains.
In order to ensure that passengers can use the cogwheel railways and aerial cableways at Mount Rigi, we have developed a safety concept together with the SBB and the Swiss Cable-Car Association that has been approved by the Swiss Federal Council. Given that Mount Rigi Railways is officially classified as public transportation, we will implement the proposed measures without delay. All safety measures can be found here.
To reach the summit of Mt. Rigi, you have various options. The most convenient way to reach the top is by taking the cogwheel train from Vitznau or Arth-Goldau. To experience something different, why not take the aerial cable car from Weggis to Kaltbad, where you have an onward connection to Rigi Kulm by cogwheel train.
To plan your trip, please check the timetables.
- Vitznau to Rigi Kulm approx. 30 Minutes by cogwheel train
- Weggis via Rigi Kaltbad to Rigi Kulm approx. 40 Minutes by aerial cable car and cogwheel train
