Wild camping

Please note that wild camping is generally not permitted in the cantons of Schwyz and Lucerne.

Individual overnight stays (not in groups) above the tree line are permitted if the following rules are observed:

In principle, the consent of the respective landowner must be obtained in advance. Information about the landowner must be requested from the respective municipality.
It is not permitted to drive motor vehicles on forest roads.
Respect nature and wildlife and avoid making noise.
Leave the place as you found it, and take all your rubbish with you.
Do not light a fire, it is dangerous and disturbs the wildlife
Do not relieve yourself outdoors, but use nearby toilet facilities.
If staying for several nights, the tent must always be taken down during the day.
